I wasn't wild about the first episode, but I'm now a fan of HBO's eccentric but understated Flight of the Conchords. Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (The Drowsy Chaperone) will return in a recurring role as Bret's crush, as shown here....

I'll check it out, it looked like a watered down version of Extras, which I was so/so on. I loved Patrick Stewarts film idea though...
I'm with you. The first episode was kind of hit and miss, but with each following episode, I seem to like it more. It takes a while to get into the tone of the show.
I think this last one about the muggers was the best.
I didn't see that much of Extras, but this seems quite different to me...in everything Ricky Gervais has done post-Office he just seems to be vamping in my opinion. FOTC is much weirder.
"Getting into the tone" is a good way to put it. After 3 episodes I'm convinced Jemaine is acting, just underplaying everything so much we can't tell....
how did you get that ridiculous hypothesis! that's preposterous! did steve tell you that?
wait until they play "business time" in the next episode.
