I'm not sure I understand this. Where do all of the extra delegates come from? There have only been two (well, 3 if you count Montana) contests, each with a handful of delegates, yet Time has hundreds of delegates assigned.
I agree that it seems out of whack. The Time site I linked to mentioned that there are delegates chosen in some states that aren't connected to any popular voting - but I'd say that most people really don't understand all the ins and out of the process (including me).
